Check Point Firewall R81.20 is based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).


I have searched high and low on Google and YouTube for concise guides on configuring Check Point Firewall R81.20 with basic internet connectivity for home use, but couldn't find any.


Today 22 Apr 2025 Tuesday, I asked ChatGPT to generate a concise guide for configuring Check Point Firewall R81.20 with basic internet connectivity for home use.


However, the guide generated by ChatGPT doesn't exactly match the webUI and SmartConsole interfaces of Check Point Firewall R81.20.


At the end of the day, I couldn't get Check Point Firewall R81.20 to work in my home and I screwed up the firewall configuration.


I guess I have to re-install Check Point Firewall R81.20 from the DVD ISO image and start all over again.


Check Point Firewall R81.20 proves to be very difficult to configure, even for home use. Most of the other brands of firewalls are far easier to configure.
